Judy began her environmental activism in the 1970s as a member, and later chair, of the Pelham Conservation Commission. She served on Kestrel’s board from 1986 to 2016, playing an active role in Kestrel’s evolution from an all-volunteer entity to a fully staffed organization.
Judy has served on and consulted with multiple local, state, and regional boards and governmental committees. She served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions, represented the Swift River Valley Historical Society as President and member of the Water Supply Protection Trust, and sat on the Executive Committee of the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission. She currently serves on the board of the Massachusetts Rivers Alliance, Pelham’s Democratic Town Committee and Planning Board.
