Jack Sweeney-Taylor is serving as Kestrel’s AmeriCorps Community Engagement Coordinator with the TerraCorps program from September 2018 through July 2019.
After teaching English as a Second Language in the Bronx for five years, Jack arrived in the Connecticut River Valley in 2011 to coach soccer in Hadley, MA, where he was swept off his feet by the ridgeline of the Mt. Holyoke range. That landscape has accompanied him on runs along the Robert Frost Trail, on his drive to teach in Springfield, and now inspires his service at Kestrel. In addition to its geology and vistas, Jack enjoys Western Mass’s sense of community in its pick-up soccer, live music, spoken Spanish, and converted mill buildings.
