Conserve Your Valley

Kestrel Land Trust helps individuals and communities conserve and care for land in the heart of the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts, including Amherst and Northampton, and the surrounding communities.

Our focus areas include the scenic Mount Holyoke & Mount Tom Ranges, rich Valley farmland, riverlands along both sides of the Connecticut River and its tributaries, and forests connecting to the Quabbin Reservoir.

Why conserve land?

Whether farmland or forest, wetland or meadow, the land provides the very foundation for our lives. Conserving our lands is not a luxury. It’s a necessity that provides benefits like these for all of us:

  • Clean Water & Air
  • Local Food
  • Places for Wildlife
  • Healthy Communities
  • Fighting Climate Change

Conserving Your Land

What does your land mean to you? Is it part of a family heritage; a working landscape; a habitat for plants and animals; or simply a place that inspires you? We will work with you hold on to what you value, while protecting the land from unwanted development – forever.
