Habitat Improvement
Sometimes the best thing to do for the land—and the plants and animals that live there—is to let it be. But in other cases we may find that improvements could benefit the land for wildlife or for recreation.
Our Stewardship team assesses the conservation goals of our lands and looks for safe and effective ways to meet those goals. For example, to stop invasive plants from choking out the native plants, our volunteer Stew Crew helps pull those weeds.
We also have two efforts underway to give a boost to native animal species that are at risk: the American Kestrel and the Eastern Spadefoot Toad.
