Volunteer Property Monitoring Training
April 28 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Kestrel’s volunteer Stew Crew invites new and returning property monitors to learn a new, easy, and COVID-compatible way to monitor our conserved lands! Join us for a two-part training comprised of a virtual session hosted on Zoom and an optional outdoor practice session at Kestrel’s new home in South Amherst.
On Wednesday, April 28 from 5 pm – 6:30 pm, the virtual training session will review monitoring basics and introduce attendees to using Landscape Conservation Software on their cell phone or tablet. This cool app lets you navigate and collect information using one tool, and it all goes directly into Kestrel’s database: no need to hand in written reports! The optional in-person outdoor component on Saturday, May 1 from 9 am – 11 am will give you some practice with this app and an opportunity to ask questions. Note: You must have access to a cell phone or tablet to use this app. Safe snacks will be provided! (Rain date: May 8)
This training has limited capacity. Registration is required. Please RSVP by April 26, 2021.
