Winter Solstice Mindfulness Walk
December 21, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Would you like a bit more quiet time and connection with nature amidst the busyness of the season? Join us for our annual Winter Solstice Mindfulness Walk. On Wednesday, December 21, 5:30 – 7:00 pm, spend an enchanting evening outdoors to celebrate the winter solstice with a silent walk at Silvio O. Conte National Fish & Wildlife Refuge in Hadley. Marilyn Castriotta, Community Engagement Manager at Kestrel, will lead this meditative woods walk on the longest night of the year.

Solstice means “sun stands still,” so on this evening, we will pause to enjoy the stillness of this seasonal turning point, the stillness of the natural world, and our own inner stillness through the practice of mindfulness.
We’ll gather for a brief introduction, then share a quiet walk along the universally accessible Fort River Trail. This 1.1-mile loop meanders through 260 acres of diverse habitat and includes eight elevated boardwalks and seven scenic viewing decks with benches.
This event is co-sponsored by the Silvio O. Conte National Fish & Wildlife Refuge. Space is limited and registration is required.
