Puffer’s Pond & Mill River Walk & Trail Cleanup
June 2, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Help keep Puffer’s Pond a safe, clean, and beautiful conservation area for the Amherst Community. The Friends of Puffer’s Pond invite you to the 27th Annual Breakfast for Puffer’s Pond on Saturday, June 2 from 8:30 am – 11 am! All proceeds go directly to these efforts.
June 2 is also National Trails Day. At 11 am, following the Puffer’s Pond Pancake Breakfast, join Dave Ziomek, Amherst Director of Conservation and Development, and Marilyn Castriotta, Kestrel’s TerraCorps Community Engagement Coordinator, for a walk and trail cleanup at Puffer’s Pond and along the Mill River.
- Meet at Mill River Recreation Picnic Area at 10:45am.
- Walk begins at 11 am to pick up trash along the Mill River and Puffer’s Pond.
- Garbage bags and a map will be provided.
- Wear boots or sturdy outdoor shoes. Bring work gloves.
Please register in advance for the trail cleanup. Attendance at the Pancake Breakfast is not required to take part in the walk and trail cleanup.
Kestrel Land Trust has partnered with the Town of Amherst to help create conservation areas like Puffer’s Pond since 1970. Kestrel assists with the management of Puffer’s Pond by holding donations for its upkeep, then transferring those funds directly to the Town Conservation Department each year.
If you can’t attend the Breakfast and want to make a donation to support Puffer’s Pond, click here for our donation page, then select “Designate a specific purpose for my gift,” and under the drop-down menu that appears, choose “Friends of Puffers Pond.”
