New Year’s Day Walk at Greenberg Family Conservation Area
January 1 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Start the New Year off on the right foot by getting outdoors, enjoying nature, and spending time with others. This year, Kestrel is partnering with Adventure East to host our annual New Year’s Day Walks on Monday, January 1, from 1:00-3:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with friends old and new, while learning something about the land you love!
On the west side of the Connecticut River, join us for a walk at Greenberg Family Conservation Area in Westhampton as naturalist William Randolph leads us on a leisurely 2-hour walk along the picturesque trails at one of Kestrel’s first Nature Retreats. The land of this 65-acre conservation area was donated to Kestrel in 2017 by Rebecca and Carolyn Greenberg in memory of their parents, Stanley and Bernice Greenberg. The varied terrain throughout this forest is mostly flat with some small hills, and beautiful features including Sodom Brook, tulip trees, and a gathering circle with platform and bench. Check out our map.
Depending on conditions, trekking poles, micro spikes, and snowshoes will be available for this event through Adventure East for all who would like to use them.
Is Westhampton too far from home? Or are you looking for a more challenging hike? Join us instead for our New Year’s Day hike on the Mt. Holyoke Range in Amherst.
Space is limited and registration is required.
