New Year Nature Walks in the Valley

January 13, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Happy group in the woods

THESE EVENTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO ICY CONDITIONS ON TRAILS.

Start the New Year off right by getting outdoors with nature and new friends. Join Kestrel for one of our RESCHEDULED New Year’s walks on either side of the river!

In Amherst, take a walk with Wildlife Biologist Dave King at the Wentworth Farm Conservation Area: an easy, flat walk through fields and woods with a lovely pond at the center. In Northampton, you can follow naturalist and educator John Body on a winding trek through the Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area’s woodlands and wetlands. The land around Fitzgerald Lake is permanently conserved by the City of Northampton and stewarded by the Broad Brook Coalition. There are a few small hills to climb on this walk.

This is a great opportunity to meet and chat with new people, and learn a little about the land you love at the same time. Both walks will take place on Saturday, January 13 from 1 pm – 3 pm.

Registration is required, but the walks are free of charge. (Heavy snow or severe cold will cancel.)

Happy New Year!
