New Year’s Day Walk in Pelham
January 1 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Begin the New Year by getting outdoors and connecting with nature! Join us for Kestrel’s annual New Year’s Day walk on the east side of the Connecticut River at Buffam Brook Community Forest in Pelham on Saturday, January 1, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
(Is Pelham too far from home? Join us for our other hike in Williamsburg instead.)
Come along as U.S. Forest Service wildlife biologist Dave King leads us on the network of trails recently created at Pelham’s Buffam Brook Community Forest. (If you can’t join us, check out the new trail map to explore on your own.) This diverse woodland includes large mature forest, as well as areas of young trees and native shrubs. The historic rock quarry provides ledge habitat for wildlife and shelters an active vernal pool.
This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with friends – old and new – while learning something about the land you love.
We have reached our maximum registration limit for this program.
