New Year’s Day Walk: Horse Mountain

January 1 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The parties are over and the resolutions begin! Start the New Year by getting outdoors, enjoying nature, and making new friends. Join Kestrel for our annual New Year’s Day walk on the west side of the Connecticut River at Horse Mountain Conservation Area in Williamsburg and Hatfield on Sunday, January 1, 1:00 -3:00 pm.

(Is Williamsburg too far from home? Join us for our other hike in Pelham instead.)

Come along as naturalist and educator John Body leads us on a 2-hour loop walk that includes a dramatic view of the Connecticut River Valley. This 128-acre conservation area is part of a greater open space landscape. Its varied terrain includes wetlands, sheltered areas, and rocky outcrops along the steep ridgeline, which allow for a diversity of plant and wildlife species. Kestrel worked with the Towns of Williamsburg and Hatfield to help conserve this land in 2017.

This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with friends, old and new, while learning something about the land you love.

Space is limited and registration is required.
