New Year’s Day Walk: Buffam Brook Community Forest

January 1 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The parties are over and the resolutions begin! Start the New Year by getting outdoors, enjoying nature and making new friends. Join Kestrel for our annual New Year’s Day walk on the east side of the Connecticut River at Buffam Brook Community Forest in Pelham on Sunday, January 1, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

(Is Pelham too far from home? Join us for our other hike in Williamsburg instead.)

Come along as botanist and Professor Emeritus of Ecology at Ohio State University Peter Curtis leads us leads us on a 2-hour walk at Pelham’s Buffam Brook Community Forest. (If you can’t join us, check out the new trail map to explore on your own.) This diverse woodland includes large mature forest, as well as areas of young trees and native shrubs. The historic rock quarry provides ledge habitat for wildlife and shelters a large vernal pool.

This is a great opportunity to meet and chat with friends, old and new, while learning something about the land you love.

Space is limited and registration is required.
