Start the New Year off right by getting outdoors with nature and friends old and new. Join Kestrel for our annual New Year’s Day hike on the east side of the river at the new Buffam Brook Community Forest in Pelham on Wednesday, January 1 at 1 pm until 3 pm.

Come along with U.S. Forest Service wildlife biologist Dave King to explore the new trails on the Buffam Brook Community Forest. This diverse woodland includes large mature forest, as well as areas of young trees and native shrubs. One highlight is the historic rock quarry that now provides ledge habitat for wildlife and shelters an active vernal pool.

This is a great opportunity to meet and chat with new people, and learn a something about the land you love at the same time.

Registration is required, but the walks are free of charge. (Severe weather will cancel.)
