“Being” in the Forest: Experience Mindfulness in Nature
July 29, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Slow down with Robert Jonas, Ed. D., founder and Director of The Empty Bell, for a peaceful nature meditation at Kestrel’s new Nature Retreat, the Greenberg Forest Conservation Area in Westhampton. On Saturday, July 29 from 9 am – 11 am, we will explore this beautiful forest along a picturesque brook in a whole new way. Rather than hiking through nature, we will seek to find our place in nature, letting go of our everyday habits of needing to get somewhere, do something, or even learn something.
During this special nature experience, Dr. Jonas will share the basic principles of mindfulness: How to practice “being” and “being with” rather than “doing.” Practicing mindfulness in nature reduces our stress, soothes our minds, and relaxes our bodies. It also awakens our spirit and our capacity for a deeper, more respectful and care-full relationship with plants, trees, birds, mammals, and the earth itself.
RSVP Required: Limited to 20 people. Register below to learn meeting location.
Suggested Donation: $5 to $15
Rain date: Saturday, August 5
