Landscape Photography Skills Workshop with Michael Zide
April 14, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

For amateur and experienced photographers looking to hone their nature photography skills and learn from a professional, join landscape photographer Michael Zide for a three-part workshop in April. This workshop is designed to help photographers see additional layers of interest in the landscape, imbuing their photographs with more mood, mystery, and surprise.
- Part 1: APRIL 14: 8 am -11 am. Join Michael at the Kestrel Land Trust office in Amherst for an overview of elements-focused photography concepts and constructive critique of your photography. Each participant should bring 2 or 3 photographs to share. This will be followed by an “in-the-field” supervised photography outing to a nearby conservation area.
- Part 2: APRIL 15 through April 20. On their own time, each participant will visit local conservation areas and take photographs applying the photography concepts learned in the first workshop. Early morning provides the opportunity to explore how to use the light to your advantage.
- Part 3: APRIL 21, 9 am – 11 am. Come back together at the Kestrel Land Trust office for a 2-hour positive group “critique” led by Michael. The group will share and view several examples of each participant’s photographic work to explore how they reflect the photographer’s intention, and how each of these images might be strengthened.
The fee for this three-part workshop is $75 per person, and space is limited to 12 participants. Registration is required: Marilyn@kestreltrust.org.
