Forest Bathing at Greenberg
June 5, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Experience the restorative power of forest bathing: a heart-opening practice, designed to awaken the senses via a slow guided walk through the forest. Studies show that nature immersion therapy has a restorative effect on health and well-being, including decreased blood pressure and blood glucose, improved immunity, increased attention span and memory, improved resilience to stress, and more.
We’ll be led by MaryDonna Whyte, a Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). Forest and Nature therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shrin-rin Yoku, which is literally translated as “forest bathing.”
This experience will take place at the Greenberg Family Conservation Area in Westhampton on Saturday, June 5, 10 am – noon. The terrain of the trail is easy to moderate, and will cover about 1.5 miles on uneven ground with exposed roots and rocks.
MaryDonna is also a Reiki master, family nurse practitioner, and artist, and is certified in Wilderness First Aid.
Space is limited to 12 participants, and registration is required. This program is free, though donations are always welcome!
