Come celebrate Dairy Month with Barstow’s Longview Farm in Hadley. On Sunday, June 10 join Lee Halasz, Kestrel’s TerraCorps-AmeriCorps Regional Conservation Coordinator, and Denise Barstow, Marketing & Education Manager, for a free walking tour to see the dairy farm and learn about how Kestrel helps farmers like the Barstows to permanently conserve their land.

The number of people that call the Pioneer Valley home is growing, but for many reasons it is critical to keep farmland in our community. Come and hear about how much farmland we have, how much is already conserved, and ways to conserve more farmland.

Lee has worked on various aspects of natural resource management with a variety of organizations (mostly in Australia), and is currently working to forward farmland conservation in the Pioneer Valley through Kestrel Land Trust and the Forever Farmland Initiative.

Enjoy Barstow’s ice cream and deli snacks before or after the program!

This program is free but registration is strongly recommended. No rain date.
