Family Farm Day: All About Soil
May 7 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
For farmers in the Valley and across the world, spring marks the beginning of the agricultural season. Over at the newest Food Bank Farm, one of only a few in the entire country, the growing season is swinging into action! On Saturday, May 7, families with youth ages 5 and up are invited to the farm to learn about one of our most precious natural resources (soil!) through hands-on activities and exploration. During these mornings, families will also assist with light farm tasks, and learn about regenerative farming practices and The Food Bank’s commitment to community food security. (Learn how Kestrel partnered with the Food Bank of Western MA to create this unique farm in 2020.)
Participants are encouraged to wear clothes that can get dirty! This event a repeat of the April 16th program. Both events will cover the same content. This event is FREE but space is limited and registration is required.
To sign up, please email Amanda Reynolds at email@example.com stating which day you would like to attend, the number of people you are signing up, the ages of children, and that you heard about this event from Kestrel.
