Give Youth the Gift of Nature with Eagle Eye Institute’s Hike-a-Thon
October 10, 2020 - October 24, 2020

Now more than ever, nature is an important force for healing, connection, and inspiration. If you have benefited from nature this year, you can help more young people have access to the benefits of nature by joining Eagle Eye Institute’s 18th annual Hike-a-thon!
Eagle Eye Institute is Kestrel’s partner organization dedicated to providing students from urban areas—especially students of color who have been historically excluded from outdoor spaces—with the opportunity to connect with themselves and their communities through nature. (Watch this inspiring short video to learn more!)
Kestrel has partnered with Eagle Eye on this mission in Holyoke since 2017. Kestrel and Eagle Eye coordinate the Eagle Club after-school program at Holyoke High Dean Campus. Kestrel provides connections to guest instructors who have spoken to students about wildlife, plant identification, and other themes related to the land. Students have also participated in stewardship projects at local conservation areas. The program continues at Dean this year and has expanded to include the Holyoke Boys & Girls Club.
Please Join Kestrel at Eagle Eye’s Virtual Hike-a-thon October 10-24!
To support our partner’s mission, we invite you to participate in Eagle Eye’s 18th annual Hike-a-Thon, which will take place virtually, October 10th-24th, 2020. The Hike-a-Thon is Eagle Eye’s biggest fundraiser of the year. You can help just by hiking and asking others to sponsor your hike, promoting the event on your social media, or donating to the fundraiser.
