Breakfast & Birding on the Mt. Holyoke Range
May 6 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am

Celebrate the arrival of spring with birdsong, good company, and nourishing food! As the avian migratory season gets underway, join us on Saturday, May 6, at Kestrel’s “home on the Range” in Amherst for this special seasonal birding and breakfast event from 7:00 to 11:00 am.
David Peake-Jones and Mike Locher, both of Hampshire Bird Club, are knowledgeable birders and patient teachers who will guide the group on a 2-hour exploration of the forest edges and pond area at the base of the Mount Holyoke Range at Sweet Alice Conservation Area next to our headquarters. We’ll look for migratory and resident birds as we learn interesting facts about the species we observe. Beginning and experienced birders welcome! Binoculars are strongly recommended.
After the early morning walk, we will return to the beautiful Kestrel House overlooking Plum Brook Pond to enjoy a delicious breakfast spread from River Valley Co-op—including quiches, pastries, and fresh fruit—as well as some birding conversation!
$25 per person and registration is required. Space is limited!
