9th Annual 5K for Farmland & Farmers’ Market Festival
October 15, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

It’s time for the 9th Annual 5K for Farmland & Farmers’ Market Festival! (Rain or Shine!)
Our biggest community event of the year will take place this Sunday, October 15, 2017 on the historic Hadley Common, with running and walking routes through the scenic farmlands of the Great Meadow and along the Connecticut River. The event brings together more than 500 people to run, walk, support local farmers, and raise awareness about the need to conserve our Valley’s precious farmland.
The 5K road race is USATF-sanctioned loop that starts and ends on the West Street Common and takes you through the scenic farmlands of the Great Meadow. A 2-mile walking route offers a bird’s eye view of the Connecticut River. After the run or walk, stay to enjoy the post-race Farmers’ Market Festival on the Town Common with good food and locally grown and brewed beer provided by Valley Malt! All registered participants get a FREE beer (age 21+) and anyone can buy a pint, with proceeds going to support Kestrel’s work to conserve our local farms. The Farmers’ Market highlights fresh, local produce and unique local products and crafts, as well as nature exhibits and more. And, listen the upbeat sounds of “Banish Misfortune” or get silly with Trevor the Games Man.
THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE! PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER!
