3rd Annual Kestrel Community Picnic
June 23, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Kestrel Land Trust Members, Volunteers, and Friends Are Invited!
Please join us on Sunday, June 23 from 5 pm – 8 pm for our 3rd Annual Kestrel Community Picnic to show our appreciation for Kestrel’s generous members and dedicated volunteers. Through the generosity of Rick and Mary Thayer, we’ll picnic at their historic homestead nestled at the base of the Mount Holyoke Range, enjoy picturesque preserved farmland, and take in spectacular views of Mount Tom.
Members, volunteers, and anyone who is interested in learning more about Kestrel is invited to attend. This year, the event will be a potluck with beverages provided, including some wine and beer. The event is free, but registration will be required, and guests should plan to bring a dish to share. (One dish per couple or family is fine.) The party will be casual, so bring your picnic blanket or lawn chairs if the weather is dry. There will be limited table seating for those unable to sit on lawn chairs or on the ground. If the weather is wet, table seating will be provided inside the historic barn.
During the picnic, you’ll have a chance to learn about the history of the Thayer farm and the Hockanum neighborhood, which includes Barstow’s Dairy. The evening will also include a tribute to our generous donors and dedicated volunteers.
We’ll also be drawing for the grand prize of our Spring Membership Drive, as well as several other prizes for attendees of the picnic. The prizes include:
- Grand Prize – 2-night stay at The Old Mill Inn, Hatfield
- $50 gift certificate to Bay State Perennial Farm
- A book donated by Broadside Bookshop
- A gift certificate for 5 lbs. of fresh coffee from Esselon Cafe
We look forward to seeing you there and thank you for all you do to conserve the land you love in the Valley!
Space is limited and registration is required by Friday, June 21.
