Kestrel Community Picnic & Celebration
June 11 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Please join us for a picnic dinner to celebrate the land and the people who care for it—like you!
Enjoy a picnic spread of gourmet sandwiches, salads, desserts, wine and beer. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy the scenic views at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Renaissance Center. The Renaissance Center is the former home of Janet and Toby Dakin, two of the founders of Kestrel Land Trust in 1970. The Dakin Field, overlooking the Berkshires, has a Kestrel Trail to explore the land.
We’ll be honoring several of our many outstanding volunteers, including Judy Eiseman and Paul Beaulieu, who are both retiring after serving more than 30 years each on Kestrel Land Trust’s Board of Trustees. We will also be honoring current Board member Robert Jonas, who has served as Kestrel’s Board Chair for the past 5 years.
We will provide a few lawn games and hoola hoops for the kids, but feel free to bring your own lawn game or a frisbee!
This event will be held rain or shine: Outdoor shelter and toilet facilities will be available.
Cost: $15 adults ($5 for children 12 & under)
A drink ticket for your first beverage (beer or wine) is included with the ticket price. Cash bar for additional beer or wine.
Location: The UMass Renaissance Center is located at 650 E. Pleasant St., Amherst. See the map below for directions.
RSVP is required by June 5!
NOTE: Tickets will NOT be sold on-site. You must RSVP to attend.
If you prefer not to pay online, you may mail or bring in a check to our office by June 5. Please include the names of all guests, and their dietary restrictions (vegetarian/vegan/gluten free) if any.
